Job Description
Nonviolent Peaceforce, through Nurani Perdamaian Indonesia (NPID), is seeking a Documentary Film Production Consultant for its Strengthening Rehabilitation and Reintegration and Improve Social Cohesion against Violent Extremism (STRIVE) Program. This program, running from January 2025 to December 2027, aims to strengthen Indonesia's efforts in preventing violent extremism by supporting the reintegration and rehabilitation of returnees, former violent extremist offenders, and individuals at risk, while fostering resilient and inclusive communities across Jakarta, Bima (West Nusa Tenggara), and Poso (Central Sulawesi).
As the program approaches completion, NP Indonesia intends to produce a high-quality documentary film to capture its journey, achievements, lessons learned, and the human stories behind the intervention. This documentary will serve as a legacy product, an advocacy tool, and a knowledge resource highlighting the importance of sustained investment in community resilience and reintegration.
The purpose of this consultancy is to produce a compelling documentary film that captures the overall implementation and impact of the STRIVE Program, while communicating the continued importance of community-based reintegration and resilience-building efforts. The film should present authentic stories, demonstrate evidence of program achievements, and inspire continued collaboration among governments, communities, civil society, and development partners.
Key objectives include:
- Documenting the implementation of the STRIVE Program across Jakarta, Bima, and Poso.
- Capturing stories of transformation among beneficiaries, families, communities, and institutional stakeholders.
- Showcasing collaborative efforts between government institutions, civil society organizations, and local communities.
- Demonstrating the program's contribution to strengthening community resilience, social cohesion, and sustainable reintegration.
- Producing a high-quality legacy documentary suitable for advocacy, public communication, knowledge sharing, and future resource mobilization.
The selected consultant will be responsible for the complete production process, encompassing pre-production, production, and post-production. This includes participating in inception meetings, reviewing program documents, developing a creative concept and treatment, preparing storyline and interview frameworks, identifying key interviewees, and planning logistics. Field production will be conducted in Jakarta, Bima, and Poso, covering program activities, interviews with various stakeholders including beneficiaries, family members, community and religious leaders, government representatives, and consortium partners, as well as capturing community interactions and supporting footage.
