As an Illustrator, you will join Duolingo's Design team, a crucial creative partner in projects ranging from the mobile app and website to branded environment builds and Super Bowl ads. The team focuses on crafting high-quality, fun, and user-friendly experiences for their half a billion (and growing!) learners worldwide. This role is instrumental in bringing purpose, feeling, and delight to every interaction with the Duolingo brand.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Concepting and composing engaging character and scene illustrations.
- Working in a highly collaborative fashion with the Design and partner teams.
- Creating new and memorable characters and enhancing existing ones.
- Considering the user experience surrounding the artwork you create.
- Creating artwork for social media, marketing campaigns, and workplace experience.

The offered salary for this full-time position ranges from $110,500 to $149,500 USD, supplemented by equity compensation. Benefits information is available via a provided link in the original posting.

- An online portfolio with illustration samples.
- Skill and proficiency illustrating with Figma.
- Illustration experience in a tech, agency, or editorial role.
- Experience illustrating for animation.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel from concept to completion.
- The ability to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or Detroit, MI.

Exceptional candidates will also have:
- 1+ years of experience working at a high-paced tech start-up.
- Experience with product design or animation (or both).
