Machine Operators-Footwear (Fixed Term Contract) at Midlands State University – Gweru

Midlands State University's Enterprise Division is inviting applications for Machine Operators in the Footwear sector. The successful candidate will report to the Production Supervisor and will be primarily responsible for tending specific machines used for lasting, cutting, closing, and finishing footwear products. Key duties include performing routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance, examining finished products for defects and variations, and reporting any machine faults. The role requires working collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors and engineers, to ensure the smooth running of the production process. Adherence to safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective equipment are essential for maintaining a safe working environment. The candidate must ensure punctual completion of tasks to meet critical path deadlines.

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Footwear/Leather/Canvas industry, in a similar role.
- A certificate in the footwear industry would be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate proficiency in any of the following skills: Vamping, Eyeleting, Stitching, Binding, Quality Control, Key hand.
